Our History
We opened the business on Durham road back in 2002 and have always been a family run business throughout the years. We have had several businesses in various locations over 36 years and continued to have loyal custom throughout this time.
Our Service
At O’Connor’s garage we pride our self on being efficient, honest and reliable. We put the customer and the needs of their car first at all times and understand the importance of getting you back on the road as quickly as possible. We like to communicate with customers throughout any repairs so they have an understanding of what work will be carried out on their vehicle. We Carry out MOT on all class 4 and 7 vehicles as well as

We try our best to carry out MOT and repairs within the same day but offer a booking system if customers prefer a certain date. We also offer a courtesy car if you feel you are unable to manage without your car on the day of repair. We are happy to provide customers with advice over the phone or call in during our opening hours to talk to one of our technicians for advice or an accurate quote on repairs you require.

Meet the team at O’Connors
Paul O'Connor
Paul is the owner of the business and one of our MOT testers.
He has worked in the motor trade for 39 years and kept a loyal customer base the whole time.
Charlotte O'Connor
Charlotte, Paul’s daughter, started in the business in January 2018. She works hard to keep everything running smoothly and maintaining communication between customers and technicians. Her main aim is to maintain our high standard of customer service. Being front-of-house she knows the importance of making all customers, both male and female to feel welcome and comfortable enough to call in approach our team in the garage to discuss any problem they have no matter how small. Charlotte is amazing at providing information to customers in terms they will understand instead of technical jargon you often get at other repair centres.
Ken
Ken is our main MOT tester as well as a highly qualified technician. He has worked in the company since October 2017. Ken is a friendly and approachable and will go above and beyond to assist our customers with repairs and provide advice.
Ken has worked within the motor trade for 25 years and been a qualified MOT tester for 5 years.
Ken has a keen interest in 4x4s and motorbikes and also enjoys working on his own cars and bikes in his spare time.
Kate
Kate has been with us since 2008 and is also responsible for everyday running and administration of the company.
Working part time, Kate continues to be a loyal member of the team and a valued member of staff, continuing to maintain the administration and accounts within the business.
